The Jakarta contingent is increasingly firmly in the top position on the temporary list of medal winners at PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024.

Based on data received by beritajakarta.id, as of 9 AM on Wednesday (9/18), the Jakarta contingent was still in the top position with 135 gold medals, 114 silver medals, and 108 bronze medals.

The second position is occupied by West Java with 132 gold medals, 124 silver medals, and 122 bronze medals. It is followed by East Java, which is in third position with 105 gold medals, 109 silver medals, and 111 bronze medals.

Then also the host North Sumatra is in fourth place with 65 gold medals, 35 silver medals and 78 bronze medals. While Aceh which is also the host is in fifth place with 52 gold medals, 39 silver medals, and 46 bronze medals.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) Head, Andri Yansyah was grateful and proud of the achievements made by the Jakarta contingent. He urged the athletes and officials of the Jakarta contingent to remain enthusiastic, focused and consistent so that they could win gold medals in the remaining matches they would take part in.

"Don't forget to always pray and ask for your parents' blessing before competing so that your dream of winning a medal can be achieved," he expressed, Wednesday (9/18).

He also highlighted the development of the medal tally which continues to improve. With the remaining matches, he was sure that Jakarta has great potential to win more gold medals.
